Former Husky Zeb Richardson led all Guilford College scorers in a 65-55 victory over Randolph-Macon on Saturday.
Richardson scored 15 points, including nine points in the second half to help the Quakers pick up its fourth win of the season. Guilford currently sits at 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC).
Richardson helped Guilford own the paint against Randolph-Macon. The Quakers outscored the Yellow Jackets 42-16 in the paint and out-rebounded them by 11.
The freshman played 18 minutes off the bench and was 7-11 from the field with seven rebounds and two blocked shots to cap off the most impressive game of his early career.
In the season opener on Nov. 16 against Southern Virginia, Richardson played 11 minutes and scored two points and grabbed four rebounds. The very next day against William Peace, Richardson played 16 minutes and had nine points on 3-6 shooting with six rebounds. In the other two games, Richardson scored six points and pulled down three boards in both contests.
The Quakers return to the court on Dec. 5 at home against Greensboro College. Guilford will then finish December with five more games. The Quakers travel to Virginia Wesleyan on Dec. 8, host North Carolina Wesleyan on Dec. 15, travel to Johnson & Wales on Dec. 18, visit Maryville College on Dec. 28 before ending 2012 with a home game against Birmingham Southern on Dec. 29.
