Ashe County scored its first conference win of the year with a 40-0 victory over Alleghany.
Freshman quarterback Colin Ellis got things started with a 25-yard touchdown run on the first offensive drive of the game.
The Huskies went up 12-0 with a five-yard run by Alex Kissinger after long runs from Ellis and Tristen Jones.
Ellis scored his second touchdown of the game, this one through the air on the next drive after a Trojan punt. The freshman found Joseph Lowder for a 42-yard TD. Kissenger ran in for a two-point conversion to put Ashe in front 20-0 with 41 seconds left in the first half.
Alleghany got the opening kickoff of the third quarter, but went nowhere. On fourth down, Alex Richardson burst through the line to block the punt. Garret Miller recovered the ball at the 22-yard line.
Ellis got his second rushing TD of the night after running the option with tailback Matt Greer and reversing field to take the ball in from 20 yards out. The Huskies were ahead, 26-0.
With 1:39 left in the third quarter, Ellis and Lowder hooked up again for another 42-yard TD pass and a 32-0 lead going to the final quarter of play.
The Huskies put the game away on the ground. Dante Shuler ripped off a 50-yard run, then Dillon Miller crossed the goal line from three yards out for an Ashe score. Shuler scored the two-point conversion for the final Ashe points of the night.
