A late model Toyota Tacoma wrecked on N.C. 163 east between the New River and Glendale Springs at approximately 10:50 a.m. Thursday.

According to N.C. State Trooper JD Brown, the driver Harold Calhoun and passenger Linda Calhoun were transported to Ashe Memorial Hospital, but the injuries were “nothing serious.”

The truck was driving east when slick road conditions caused the vehicle to wreck on the road into a nearby ditch.

Brown said the car struck black ice hit the embankment and rolled over.

The road near the wreck was limited to one lane until debris from the wreck, including the truck’s front end, can be cleared.

Brown said no charges were filed.

Responders were the N.C. Highway Patrol, Glendale Springs Volunteer Fire Department and Blue Ridge Medical Transport.
