Larry Wayne Farmer
Larry Wayne Farmer of Millers Creek passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012, at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was 51.
He was the son of James Farmer and the late Lois Farmer. He was a native of Ashe County, a member of the Farmers Memorial Baptist Church, Lansing. He was a truck driver and his hobbies were fishing and hunting. In addition to his mother, a brother, Randy Farmer, and a grandson, Isaac Wayne Farmer, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, James and Janie Farmer of Lansing; one daughter, Amanda Farmer of Parlier; one son, James “Jamie” Farmer of Millers Creek; three grandchildren, Rebecca Ann Farmer, Nevaeh Faw and Ryland Faw; one sister, Katherine Doty of Lansing; one step-sister, Sherrie Richardson of West Jefferson; two brothers, Rev. Danny Joe Farmer of Creston, and Jimmy Farmer of Grassy Creek; one step-brother, Jeff Parsons of Lansing; special caregiver, Donna Bouchelle; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, from the Farmers Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Joe Farmer, the Rev. Spencer Roark and the Rev. Denton Hart officiating.
Pallbearers were Johnny Farmer, Eric Medley, Jacob Medley, Jeff Parsons, Ryan Parsons, Rick Farmer and Ray Farmer.
Graveside service followed in the Farmers Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family received friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, at the Heroes Chapel of the Johnson County Funeral Home. Friends may call at the home of his father and stepmother, 2280 East Big Springs Road, Lansing, NC, at any time.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the family.
