Erma Goodman Middleton

Mrs. Erma Goodman Middleton of Clemmons died Friday, July 20, 2012 at Wilkes Senior Village in North Wilkesboro. She was 87.

She was born October 11, 1924 in West Jefferson, the daughter of the late, James Vance and Nora Wallace Goodman.

Mrs. Middleton was a longtime member of Clemmons First Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, whom she married June 21, 1947, Carlos Middleton; her first child, Baby Middleton; her second child, Stephen Carlos Middleton; and two brothers, Neal Thomas Goodman and Jack Wallace Goodman.

Survivors include one brother, Kenneth Gene Goodman and wife, Marcella, of West Jefferson; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Greer Goodman of Charlotte and Jesse Middleton Slate of Winston-Salem; one brother-in-law, Jim Middleton and wife, Mary Ruth, of Winston-Salem; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Bob and Betsy Middleton of Winston-Salem.

The funeral service was conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, July 23, at Clemmons First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Robert L. Phillips, Jr. officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
