Ashe easily picked up its fourth straight win on Tuesday, beating Elkin 8-0.

Aspen Domske tallied three goals, the third time in the last four games the senior has scored at least three in a contest.

The Lady Huskies got a pair of goals from Valerie Keys and one goal each from Tyler Eller, Taylor May and Mac Church.

Bekah Bowers chipped in a pair of assists, Domske, Keys, Alexis Parks and Bridgette Wilson all added an assist.

Defensively, Chrissy Simmons and Virginia Johnson split time as goaltender to secure the shutout. In front of them, Ashe got solid defense from Laura Rodriguez, Alyssa Peterson, Brittany Kripps and Natalie Harless.

The Lady Huskies are now 4-1 overall and 4-1 in the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference.

Ashe is scheduled to have three home games in a row, starting this Friday against winless North Wilkes. Next week, Ashe hosts Watauga on March 25 and Avery County on March 27 before hitting the road on Friday to go to West Wilkes on March 29.

The women's soccer team posted a 1-1 tie vs 4A Alexander Central last Wed. In what was their best game of the year. Alexander Central broke thru the Ashe defense early in the second half on a corner kick. After an injury to Mac Church Chrissy Simmons came out of goal to play striker and provided the assist for Aspen Domske's goal to tie the game. The lady Huskies put on a furious finish but could not find the back of the net again. Exciting game and fun to watch.
