Jesse Campbell - Staff writer

About Jesse Campbell:

An Ashe County High School graduate, Jesse Campbell studied journalism at Appalachian State University, graduating in 2008. He interned with the Jefferson Post in the spring of 2008 before joining the paper full-time later that summer. He provided extensive coverage of Freddie Hammer’s murder trial, which included correspondence with Hammer while in prison, along with the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of Jimmy Blevins. From 2010-2016, Campbell worked for other High Country media outlets before rejoining the Jefferson Post in February 2016.

Adam Orr - Editor

About Adam Orr:

Adam Orr graduated from Ashe County High School and, later, Western Carolina University with a Bachelor's in Entrepreneurship in 2011. He joined the Jefferson Post as a staff writer that same summer and covered crime, courts, state and local government. He spent time covering similar beats for other High Country media outlets and from 2014-2015 worked as the business reporter for the award-winning daily newspaper, the Gaston Gazette. He returned as the editor of the Jefferson Post in September 2015.

Teresa Laws - General Manager/Media Director

About Teresa Laws:

Teresa Laws was born and raised in Ashe County. She is a 1987 graduate of Ashe Central High School and in 1988, she graduated from Wilkes Community College with an Associate's Degree in Medical Office Assistant. She worked in the medical field for 10 years before starting her career at the Jefferson Post. She has been employed with the Jefferson Post for 17 years and works with our parent company selling at other property locations. Teresa and her husband Gary have one son Alex, who attends Western Carolina University. They reside in the Laurel Springs community.

Nathan Ham - Sportswriter

About Nathan Ham:

Nathan Ham was born in Boone and has lived in Ashe County his entire life. He graduated from Ashe County High School in 2005 and from Appalachian State University in May of 2009 with a B.S. degree in Communications with a concentration in Electronic Media/Broadcasting. He has been the sports editor at the Jefferson Post since October of 2009. When he's not out covering Ashe County sports, Ham enjoys following his beloved University of Michigan Wolverines, N.C. State Wolfpack and Minnesota Vikings.

Kay Hart - Office Manager

About Kay Hart:

Kay Hart is from Winston-Salem. She is a graduate of East Forsyth Senior High School in Kernersville and holds two associate degrees: Computer Processing - Forsyth Technical College and 2005 Graphic Design - Westwood College, Denver. She worked for 16 years at GMAC Insurance in Winston-Salem, as a Senior Customer Service Representative and a Business Analyst. She is married to the Rev. Silas Hart, pastor of Cox's Grove Baptist Church in Crumpler. They have two sons and four grandchildren. They reside in Jefferson.
