NEW YORK — Mountain Faith, a bluegrass band based in the mountains of North Carolina, reached the semifinal round of America’s Got Talent on Wednesday night.
The 5-piece band is comprised of Sam McMahan, Luke Dotson, Corey Piatt, Summer McMahan and Brayden McMahan.
Dotson, an Ashe County native, wanted to express his gratitude to the fans and supporters of the band.
“We are so excited and honored to make it this far in the competition and we couldn’t have done it without the support of Ashe County,” Dotson said. “We’re happy that God has put us on a national stage to try and spread our positive message through this experience.”
Dotson grew up in Fleetwood and graduated from Ashe County High School in 2008.
The winner of the competition will get have their choice of $1 million or the opportunity to headline a show in Las Vegas.
“America’s Got Talent” airs at 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays on NBC.
The semifinal round will air live this Tuesday and the band hopes that you will continue to vote and support them so they can reach the final round.
