(Hannah Myers|Jefferson Post) The accident occurred near the intersection of Hartzog Ford Road and N.C. 163 shortly after 11:40 a.m. Monday.


WEST JEFFERSON-Emergency first responders worked to free people pinned in a car just off N.C. 163 Monday morning.

The accident occurred near the intersection of N.C. 163 and Hartzog Ford Road just south of West Jefferson around 11:40 a.m. Monday.

Ashe Medics, the Ashe County Rescue Squad and the West Jefferson Fire Department were all on scene working to remove at least two people from the vehicle. The Jefferson Post will update as further details become available.
