ASHE COUNTY — The following accidents between March 20 and March 26 were reported by the North Carolina Highway Patrol and are considered public record.
An animal collision happened on Highway 194 near the intersection of Highway 88 in Warrensville. According to the narrative, Maranda Lynn Hartsoe of Whitetop, Virginia was traveling south when the vehicle struck a deer that entered the road. The vehicle was moved to the parking lot of Warrensville Drug Store to report the accident.
Hartsoe was uninjured.
The 2010 Nissan involved had about $3,000 in damages and was not considered drivable.
A single-vehicle accident happened on Highway 194 about three miles from Lansing. According to the narrative, Neville Otis Ewing of Okolona, Mississippi was traveling north in a semi truck and trailer. The vehicle was traveling through some road work and the driver stated that he dropped off the roadway to give himself room to pass cars and paving equipment in the southbound lane. The shoulder of the road gave way, causing the truck to overturn.
Ewing was uninjured.
The 2015 Freightliner had about $7,000 in damages but was considered drivable.
A phone box owned by Skyline had about $600 in damages.
No citations were issued.
