JEFFERSON-A Crumpler woman might have had a ‘bee in her bonnet’ when she lost control of her vehicle that swideswiped a Jefferson man’s car last month.
The accident occurred on April 18, on Ashe Central School Road when Alston Michelle Hart lost control of her Subaru sedan when a bee flew into her window. That’s according to North Carolina Highway Patrol records.
Hart’s car traveled off the roadway to the right before coming back onto the road and went left of center. She eventually sideswiped the Toyota of Phillip Dean Spainhour, Jr. of Jefferson, according to a report by the N.C. Highway Patrol.
Hart was cited for failure to maintain lane of travel.
Hart’s Subaru sustained an estimated damage of $1,000 while Spainhour’s Toyota was listed with damages of $1,500. Both cars were deemed drivable despite the incident.
