Lansing ‘Blues Fest’ is this Saturday

LANSING – The Lansing Blues Festival will bring a little bit of Beale Street to the Blue Ridge June 18.

That’s according to a press release issued by event organizers, which include Greensboro musician and Helton Creek resident Terry Vuncannon, in association with Boondocks Brewing and Scott Harris Guitar Shop.

The musical throw down will run from noon to 6 p.m. in Lansing’s Creeper Trail Park, and will feature five acts – The Fairlanes, Abe Reid, Lawyers Guns & Money, Blind-Dog Gatewood, and Seth Williams.

“We’re excited to have this new musical event in Lansing and we hope it goes off with a bang,” Lansing Mayor Dylan Lightfoot said. “Terry has lined up some great performers and you can expect a memorable show.”

And if you’re looking to start the party just a little early, the festival’s official pre-party will be held at West Jefferson’s Hotel Tavern on June 17, the evening before the festival.

Vuncannon offered up his thanks to Lansing town hall and the Lansing Volunteer Fire Department for their help in pulling the festival off.

The event is also sponsored by Mike Carr Karate of Greensboro, Phoenix Mountain Arts, On The Windfall, Carolina Country Wines, Renegade Graphics, Molley Chomper Hard Cider, and GLAD. Special sponsorship is provided by Fort Awesome, Rockitman Radio, Nation’s Inn, Days Inn, and Hotel Tavern.
