WEST JEFFERSON —The Ashe County Chamber of Commerce welcomed new owners Heather Blythe and Damon Bolding of Everything Has A Story with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Friday, June 26.
The store is located in downtown West Jefferson next to the Candy Shack.
Blythe and Bolding moved from Cary to West Jefferson and purchased Everything Has A Story.
Moving to the area is a homecoming for Blythe, who grew up in the mountains and went to Appalachian State University.
“It feels like home,” Blythe said. “The mountains are home to me.”
Everything Has A Story was previously opened in downtown West Jefferson before it was purchased by Blythe and Bolding in March.
“We loved the concept of it,” Blythe said. “We wanted to continue that concept and maybe expand onto it.”
The store features a wide variety of handmade products including painted barn quilt squares, crocheted dishcloths, soaps and other gifts.
According to Blythe, all of the items they sell are locally made in North Carolina and several items are even made here in Ashe County.
Blythe also said they are considering selling African Fair Trade Society products with the proceeds going to help students in Africa go to college.
For Blythe, Everything Has A Story is true to its name.
“My favorite part is having different people come in and getting to talk to them and hearing about their own stories as well.”
