JEFFERSON—Ashe County Parks and Recreation will host the annual July 4 celebration at Ashe County Park from noon until 10 p.m.
The event will feature food, music, and fireworks.
Free shuttles to the event will be provided at the Ashe County Courthouse parking lot beginning at 4 p.m. The event will run two shuttle buses this year and will run both before and after and the fireworks display.
Inflatable rides for kids will begin at 3 p.m. and will include the Giant Slide, Obstacle Course, and Moon Walk. A wristband for the inflatables can be purchased for $5 for the entire afternoon.
Concessions will be available including an Italian Ice stand.
Two bands with strong Ashe County heritage with perform live music during the event at the Russ Blevins Shelter beginning at 6 p.m.
The Grayson Highlands Band will perform Bluegrass music from 6-7 p.m. and the ToneBlazers will perform an Americana-based music set from 7:30-8:30 p.m.
The event will end with a fireworks display beginning at dark. The fireworks display will be provided by East Coast Pyrotechnics, the same company that provides fireworks for the Charlotte Motor Speedway and the City of Charlotte.
Feel free to bring your own food and drinks to the park, but no alcoholic beverages are allowed on any part of the Ashe County Park property.
Park staff recommend you leave dogs at home due to large crowds and loud fireworks.
The event is free but donations will be accepted at the front gate. Proceeds will go towards next year’s event.
The park is located at 527 Ashe Park Road in Jefferson.
