BOONE — Congratulations to the 2015 HCCF Regional Trivia Challenge Champions, Appalachian Home Care’s The Winner-Schnitzels!

High Country Caregiver Foundation recently held its Regional Trivia Challenge Championship Playoff at the Boone Golf Course on Saturday, June 20.

During the event community members and businesses matched wits and trivia knowledge while helping to raise funds and awareness for the High Country Caregiver Foundation.

The Trivia Challenge Championship consisted of previous winning teams from Watauga/Avery, Wilkes, Mitchell/Yancey, and Ashe/Alleghany counties who were tested on their general trivia knowledge in categories such as geography, sports, entertainment, music, pop culture, history, arts and sciences, and literature.

The overall winning team, Appalachian Home Care’s The Winner-Schnitzels, received a trophy, prizes and bragging rights. Marc Maready of Ridge Care donated his time once again to host HCCF’s Trivia Challenge. In addition, HCCF’s outgoing President, Ellen Harrell, was presented a plaque in recognition of her service and commitment to the foundation.

The High Country Caregiver Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to create awareness of caregiving issues and improve the quality of life for the increasing number of family members caring for ill or elderly relatives or raising minor grandchildren.

The casual, fun night out offered raffles, prizes, food, drinks, and plenty of laughs. The evening began at 6 p.m., giving everyone a chance to enjoy the food and buy raffle tickets for some great prizes.
