WEST JEFFERSON — Each year, McDonald’s recognizes the top 10 percent of it’s restaurant managers nationwide with the prestigious “Outstanding Restaurant Manager Award.”
This year, local West Jefferson restaurant manager April Eicher will be joining this top-flight group of high performers among McDonald’s family of over 14,000 U.S. McDonald’s restaurant managers. She is one of approximately 1,400 across the entire nation named for the award.
“I am so honored to have been recognized alongside the best restaurant managers in the nation, and I am grateful that McDonald’s goes the extra mile to recognize and reward their employees,” said Eicher. “I hope to continue to motivate my restaurant team to do their best because, at the end of the day, it is a total team effort.”
The Outstanding Restaurant Manager Award recognizes Ms. Eicher for exemplifying excellent leadership to improve the restaurant in several ways, some of which include customer satisfaction and hospitality, providing food that meets McDonald’s Golden Standards, and serving as the restaurant’s ambassador at community events.
The West Jefferson McDonald’s has been locally-owned and operated by Don and MaryAnne Moore for 22 years.
“April is a quiet and strong leader. Her career with us spans more than 13 years of success and exemplary work with our McDonald’s restaurant.” said Moore. “April has completed her coursework and graduated from Hamburger University, a college/university-accredited program for restaurant leadership development located in Oak Brook, Illinois. We are so proud of her! Her performance every day gives her the reputation as an outstanding and well-liked individual, not only within our McDonald’s team, but also within the Ashe County community. April is involved with her customers and the community our restaurant serves.
In addition to April having been awarded the “Outstanding Manager Award” for a second time, the restaurant itself was awarded the prestigious “Outstanding Restaurant Award” for the third time. This award is presented to the top ten percent of all restaurants in the nation for excellence in customer service, cleanliness, and quality food served hot, fresh, quickly, and at a value.

Eicher has been working with McDonald’s for 13 years, and started her career as a shift manager. A devoted wife and mother, April and her family reside in Crumpler, where she and her husband, Travis are the parents of twin daughters, Sierra and Cheyenne, and the guardians of Alexis and Autumn.
