Three injured in two-vehicle accident

WEST JEFFERSON —Three people were transported by ambulance to Ashe Memorial Hospital after a two-vehicle accident occurred on N.C. Highway 163 at approximately 4:20 p.m. on Thursday, July 23.

A Mercury Grand Marquis collided with a large commercial vehicle on N.C. Highway 163 then hit a street sign located at the end of Severt Road.

The extent of the injuries of those transported is unknown.

The investigation is ongoing.
