Shortly after 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, a westbound dump truck ran off the road on N.C. 88 when the driver eased over to make room for an eastbound logging truck. The driver of the dump truck, Michael Garland of Mountain City, was uninjured. Responding units were: N.C. State Highway Patrol, Creston Volunteer Fire Department and Warrensville Volunteer Fire Department.
