The courtyard around East Surry High School's flagpole is packed Monday morning as students, faculty and staff participated in a student-driven memorial ceremony for Jacob Pettitt. The 15-yea-old sophomore died Sunday at Wake Forrest Baptist Medical Center. He had been in critical condition since the Sept. 3 crash. Darragh Boutis, 39, who was a passenger also involved in the crash, is in stable condition.
