The Husky soccer team started the second half of the conference schedule on a high note with a 6-0 win over Alleghany on Thursday.

Ashe’s victory also marked the fourth win in a row.

Frank Ledezma started the scoring in the very first minute with a goal. Ashe also got first half scores from Jamie Weaver and Brayam Reyes.

Kendall Wagner opened the second half with a goal in the 41st minute and Alexis Ramos netted a goal in the 49th minute.

Ashe has shutout its opponent in three of the four wins they have had during this streak, and have outscored the conference foes, 27-2.

The Huskies will travel to Starmount on Thursday after going to Elkin on Monday.


Ashe took on Starmount and Wilkes Central last week and came away with a win over the Lady Eagles.

Starmount won the match on Tuesday in dominating fashion by scores of 25-3, 25-9 and 25-10.

On Thursday, Wilkes Central made the trip to Ashe and the Lady Huskies won a thrilling five-set contest to score their third win of the year.

The Eagles took the first set, 25-21, but Ashe quickly answered with a 25-22 win in the next set.

Central went ahead 2-1 with a 25-19 victory in the third game, but Ashe knotted things up at 2-2 with another 25-22 victory.

In the tie-breaking set, the Lady Huskies were the first to 15 points to take the 15-6 win and the match victory.

Ashe will host East Wilkes on Tuesday in the final home match of the year.
