Elkin won the conference championship for the fourth consecutive season with a team score of 269. Ashe was second with a team total of 328, followed by Alleghany (332) and Wilkes Central (336). This was the second year in a row Ashe has finished as runner-up to Elkin.

Annika Winebarger finished first, shooting a 76 in 18 holes. Mary-Frances Hall was second, three shots back. Ashe’s Sarah Hardin was third (103), Katie Talley of Alleghany was fourth (104) and Ashe’s Olivia Barr rounded out the top five finishers (108).

Hardin and Barr qualified for the regional tournament at Salisbury Country Club next Tuesday. Tee times were unknown as of press time.

Other Ashe scores included Savannah Brooks (117), Makensie Shatley (124) and Alexis Howell (125).

Hall was named MVAC Player of the Year while Elkin’s coach Sena Hinson took home MVAC Coach of the Year honors.
