Ashe County faces a stiff test right out of the gate in the tennis team’s season opener at home against 4A powerhouse Watauga next Monday.

The ladies will jump right into conference play on Tuesday, Aug. 19 at East Wilkes.

Ashe returns home to host North Wilkes on Aug. 21.

The Lady Huskies go to Boone for the return trip to Watauga (Aug. 25) before two straight Mountain Valley Conference matches against West Wilkes (Aug. 26) and Alleghany (Aug. 27).

September starts with a trip to Elkin (Sept. 2) and a trip to Starmount two days later.

Ashe then plays host to Wilkes Central (Sept. 9) and East Wilkes (Sept. 11).

After that, the Lady Huskies will have four straight matches on the road, beginning with a non-conference battle at Avery on Sept. 15. Ashe travels to North Wilkes (Sept. 16), West Wilkes (Sept. 18) and Alleghany (Sept. 23).

The regular season concludes with two of the last three matches at home. Ashe hosts Elkin on Sept. 25 and Starmount on Sept. 30 before ending the season at Wilkes Central on Oct. 2.

The MVAC Tournament will be in Elkin as it has been for the last few years on Oct. 7-8.

Team playoff matches begin on Oct. 14 while the individual regional tournaments will take place Oct. 17-18 before the individual state championship matches on Oct. 24-25.
