Jodie Chastain Copeland and Andy D. Feimster were married on the morning of Aug. 11, 2012 atop Hawksbill Mountain, Burke County. The Rev. Michael Lea of West Jefferson First Baptist Church performed the double-ring ceremony.
This 2012 ceremony marks the occasion of the fourth generation of the bride’s family to be married on Aug. 11.
The bride is the daughter of Joann P. Chastain of Blowing Rock and the late Reginald Bryan Chastain, Jr. The groom is the son of Jack and Rose Marie Feimster of Boone.
The couple was attended by the bride’s daughters, Eleanor L. Copeland and Hannah L. Copeland, both of Ashe County. The bride was attended by Dr. Linda Hirsch of Brick, N.J. Richard Stevens of Boone served both as best man and an usher. Mary A. Page of Ft. Myers, Fla., directed the wedding.
The mountaintop service, which required a strenuous climb, was also attended by the bride’s sister, Deborah L. Chastain, of Tucson, Ariz., Seth Osborne of Fleetwood, Mr. and Mrs. Philip Worth, Grassy Creek, Jan Bellows of Weaverville, Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Downs of Asheville, Mrs. Debbie Stevens, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Crutchfield, and Rob Willis, all of Boone, Dr. and Mrs. Dennis Grady of Radford, Va., Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Walker of Greenville, S.C., and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Cyr of Lexington, S.C.
An afternoon reception, where the couple was joined by additional family and friends, took place at Jefferson Landing, Jefferson. Reception music was provided by pianist, Rhett Huffman. Floral arrangements were provided by Jefferson Florist. The cake was made by Cakes by Tommy and the photographer was Brett Miller.
On the days prior to the service, the groom hiked alone through Linville Gorge and was joined by his best man, Richard Stevens, on Hawksbill Mountain where they camped on the eve of the wedding. On Aug. 10, the bride, friends and family members engaged in afternoon spa services and attended a dinner party. Debbie Stevens hosted the bride, friends and family members as overnight guests in her home.
The bride holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Appalachian State University and is employed as administrative manager at North Fork Electric, Inc. The groom is president and owner of North Fork Electric, Inc. The couple resides in Crumpler.
