Mr. Miller was born Oct. 12, 1927 in Ashe County, a son of the late Otto Patrick Miller and Bessie Edith Greene Miller. He was a retired sawmill owner and operator.
Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, Freda Scott Miller of the home; one sister, Nina Greene of Deep Gap; and one brother, Ray S. Miller and wife, Wilma, of Kernersville. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ruby Miller; three brothers, Lee, Claude, and Stanley Miller; and one brother-in-law, Riley Greene.
Funeral services for Mr. James H. Miller were conducted Sunday afternoon, April 25, at 3 p.m. at Zion United Methodist Church. The body lay in state at the church from 1:30 until 3 p.m. Officiating were Dr. Dwayne Ratcliffe, the Rev. John Elledge, and the Rev. Keith Miller. Burial followed in the Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family received friends Sunday afternoon, from 1:30-3 p.m. at the church, prior to the service.
