Kyle W. Templeton, 52, died Dec. 26, 2012, at his home in Byron, Ga., after battling melanoma. He was 52.

Kyle was born Jan. 14, 1960, in Orlando, Fla., to parents Roy L. and Rhumel Wiles Templeton.

As a former resident of Warner Robins he attended Northside High School, graduating from Ashe Central High School in Jefferson. He was a former employee of Flint Energies. He found great enjoyment in riding his motorcycle and flying his remote controlled planes with fellow GAMA members. Willie and Belle, his German shorthaired pointers, were his constant companions.

In addition to his parents of West Jefferson, he is survived by his wife of 27 years, Merilee Harrison Templeton; son, U.S. Army Specialist John Henry Templeton, now serving in Afghanistan; sister Kim Templeton (Dennis Pardue), of Jefferson; brother Phil Templeton (Suzanne) of Raleigh; father-in-law and mother-in law Jack C. and Doreen R. Harrison of Byron; sister-in-law Jill H. Kinsella (Phill Borders, fiance) of Forsyth; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation with a memorial service immediately following will be held in the fellowship hall of the Byron United Methodist Church, 103 W. Heritage Blvd., Byron, Ga., at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project, 7020 A.C. Skinner Parkway, Suite 100, Jacksonville, Fl. 32256 or American Red Cross, 2025 E Street, NW, Washington DC 20006.
