Mr. Billy Bart Mash of Statesville passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012. He was 76.

Mr. Mash was born Aug. 20, 1936, in Ashe County to Evertte and Nell Miller Mash. He attended New Prospect Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Mash was preceded in death by his first wife of 42 years, Clara Mash; his second wife of 16 years, Carol Jean Gatton Mash; and two step children, Edward and Holbert Mash; and a step granddaughter, Autumn Hudler.

He is survived by his daughter, Nona and husband Buster Keatley; stepchildren, Kerry and wife Gail, Mildred, Audrey, Carl, Nellie and husband Buck, Gilbert, Wayne and wife Kay, Avril and wife Debbie, Loraine and husband Lonnie, Clayton, and James and wife Deannie; grandchildren, Melody and husband Jeff Josey, Brandy and husband Bob Moss, and Sherry and husband Mike Lozano; great grandchildren, Brieanna and Eli Josey, Dakota and Savannah Moss, and Hunter and Hollie Franklin; two sisters, Grace and Louise; and three brothers, Harold, Dean, and Joe.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at Obids Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville.
