Nancy Weaver Hoffman, sitting at a spinning machine, demonstrates how yarn can be spun from a raw fiber like wool for use in making garments or blankets. Atticus Barker of West Jefferson, sitting at a weaving loom, is making a small textile from the spun fibers. Chrissy Weaver Hoffman offers Atticus tips using the loom while Blaine Barker, Atticus’ dad, looks on. The demonstrations were held during Saturday’s Ashe County Farmer’s Market. There was a large turnout for the market and the Fiber Day demonstrations.
