After a 15-game regular season, the Orioles came out on top as the Little League champions after beating the Braves in the final game of the tournament. Ashe finishes fifth in conference cup standings
Ashe County wrapped up the spring sports season finishing fifth place in the Wells Fargo Conference Cup Standings. The Huskies earned a conference title in women’s track, a runner-up finish in women’s soccer and a third place finish in men’s track to highlight the spring season. Varsity baseball coach Ronnie Pruitt will be hosting the annual Diamond Stars Baseball Camp at Ashe County High School next week. The camp will begin on June 25 and last through June 27. Josh Phipps, a West Wilkes graduate who has family ties to Ashe County, will have the chance to continue his football career at the collegiate level.
