JEFFERSON — A full day of family fun is set for Saturday, Sept. 19 at Ashe Park in a fundraising event that features the Rock the Cause Disc Golf Tournament.

The tournament starts the day off at 9 a.m. on one of the most popular disc golf courses in the state. The course at Ashe Park, built in 2006, received a 4.52 rating out of 5 on www.dgcoursereview.com, a website designed solely to rate and discuss disc golf courses across the United States.

The day continues with a Heritage Iron Club cruise-in at the park and an evening of rock music provided by Throwdown Jones.

Entry fee for music and cruise-in will be $10 at the gate for adults and $5 for children 13 and under.

All money raised will go to benefit heart disease awareness, cancer research, the Ashe County Food Bank and future events like these hosted by Ashe County Parks and Recreation.

Other sponsors include Western Carolina Eye Associates and Bobby D’s restaurant.
