CLAREMONT — The Ashe County Husky track teams had another successful meet on Wednesday at Bunker Hill High School, bringing back 12 podium finishes and a pair of event wins.
Andrew Tedder continued adding wins to his stellar long distance career with a victory in the two-mile run, crossing the finish line in 10:15.
Ashe’s other victory came in the men’s 110-meter hurdles where Nic Lanfranchi won in 16.34 seconds. Teammate Tyler Church grabbed third in 18.94 seconds.
In the women’s 100-meter hurdles, Savannah Cary did well enough for a second place finish, crossing the line in 17.64 seconds. Cary also took fourth in the 300-meter hurdles in 59.34 seconds.
Bella Potter finished third in the women’s high jump, clearing four feet, six inches. She followed that up with a pair of fifth place finishes in the 100 and 300-meter hurdles.
In the mile run, Margot Mattix finished in second place with a time of 6:01. Madison Warner took second in the 800-meter run, finishing in 2:42.
Ashe had a couple of good performances in the 200 and 400-meter dash events. Brooklyn Roten finished third in the 400 and Kaitlyn Jordan placed fourth in the 200.
The women also added a third place finish in the 4×100 relay and a runner-up finish in the 4×200 relay.
As a team, the women finished in second place overall with 113.5 points while the men took third with 93 points.
