ASHEVILLE — Ashe County was one of 69 teams from five different states to compete in the 14th annual Blue Ridge Classic at A.C. Reynolds High School last weekend.
The Huskies had four top-10 finishes in the meet. Senior Andrew Tedder had the top finish of the day, a ninth place run in the two-mile event. Tedder finished the race in 10:15. Nick Lanfranchi placed 10th in the 110-meter hurdles, crossing the finish line in 16.71 seconds. For the women, Bella Potter took ninth in the high jump with a leap of four feet, eight inches and the 4×400 relay team finished in 10th place with a time of 4:51.
In overall team scores, Mallard Creek High School from Charlotte won both the men’s and women’s meet.

Men’s 100-meter dash: Wesley Waddell (45th), Jason Durr (49th).
Men’s 200-meter dash: Waddell (39th), Durr (41st).
Men’s 400-meter dash: Sam Hudler (27th), Durr (39th).
Men’s 800-meter run: Terek Ashley (22nd), Gareth Berry (39th), Billy Reyna (54th).
Men’s 3200-meter run: Andrew Tedder (ninth).
Men’s 110-meter hurdles: Nick Lanfranchi (10th), Tyler Church (19th), Jake Shepherd (26th).
Men’s 300-meter hurdles: Lanfranchi (22nd), Shepherd (35th), Church (36th).
Men’s triple jump: Lanfranchi (33rd).
