WEST JEFFERSON — The 21st annual Carl and Pearl Hagel Memorial Golf Tournament will welcome golfers from all around the area to Mountain Aire Golf Club on Saturday, May 7.
The captain’s choice tournament will have two shotgun starts scheduled for 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
The entry fee for the tournament is $75 which covers green and cart fees as well as a meal.
All of the money raised will go to benefit the Ashe County Free Medical Clinic. The clinic, located in Jefferson, has been in service since 2005 with an all-volunteer staff that provides medical care for those in the county that do not have health insurance or access to Medicare or Medicaid. The free medical clinic is a non-profit organization that is supported through grants and donations. According to the clinic, they can provide $7 worth of services to its patients for every $1 donated in the community.
This year, golfers will have a chance to win some great prizes, including a free membership to Mountain Aire and even a new car.
For those that do not want to play in the tournament, you can still support the clinic through donations and sponsorships. Tournament sponsorships are available for $750 and team sponsorships are $300. Hole sponsorships are also available for $100 and each sponsor will receive recognition for their contributions to the Ashe County Free Medical Clinic.
