WEST JEFFERSON — A benefit basketball tournament and children’s fun day will take place this Saturday and Sunday at Westwood Elementary.
The 5-on-5 tournament will be double elimination format with games getting underway at 9 a.m. and lasting all day until a champion is crowned.
On Sunday, the children take center stage with a day of fun, food and games. There will be children’s games, inflatables, dirt track car rides, face painting, raffle tickets, BBQ, pizza and a lot more. For $5, children can enjoy the fun all day.
All of the money raised will go to benefit Lukas Williamson. Lukas, the son of Josh and Shannon Williamson, was diagnosed with a large glioma on his brain stem in July, 2014. Lukas has been placed into intensive care at Duke University Medical Center and has been there for over three weeks.
