WILKESBORO — The word “undefeated” is getting thrown around a lot at Ashe County Middle School so far this athletic season.

After the football team finished a perfect season in the fall, the wrestlers decided that this winter, it was their time to shine.

The ACMS Bulldogs capped off a perfect regular season on Monday night with an 80-18 win over Central Wilkes. This also marked the first time Ashe has beaten Central Wilkes in eight years. With the win, the Bulldogs ended the regular season 10-0.

This is just the beginning for the Bulldogs and head coach Alex Wray, who is expecting his team to finish off the year with an outstanding performance on Saturday.

“We are going to bring home that conference championship this weekend,” said Coach Wray.

Opening round matches will begin in the morning with the championship matches for each weight class to follow.
