BANNER ELK — Erin Bingham, a former Husky and current senior at Lees-McRae College, was this week’s recipient for the Conference Carolinas Track Athlete of the Week honor.

Overall, Lees-McRae swept both weekly awards for the women’s track and field program as her teammate Jennifer Johnson was named the Conference Carolinas Field Athlete of the Week.

Bingham most certainly deserved the award after breaking the Lees-McRae school record for the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.49 seconds. This impressive performance came last week at Appalachian State where she brought home first place in the event. The time is also the second best time of the season for all teams in Conference Carolinas.

The LMC indoor track team will be back in action on Feb. 3-4 when the squad heads to East Tennessee State University for the Buccaneer Invitational.
