Billings captures state title

Billings also received the state’s most outstanding wrestler for the 2A division award. Rylee completed his season at 43-2 wrestled Dixon’s Corey Smith in the championship finals. Smith entered the finals undefeated at 33-0 and he had pinned every opponent he faced up until the eastern regional finals. Billings gave Smith his first loss of the season. The previous weekend Rylee placed first in the Midwest region and earlier in the season, Rylee also celebrated awarded his 100th win Nov. 29th, 2017. His current career record is 136-18. Rylee is the Grandson of Mable B. Vannoy of Crumpler and the Nephew of David and Keith Vannoy of Crumpler.
