Ulysses Glenn "Hue" Elliott, age 86, of Fleetwood, died Monday, December 13, 2010 at Ashe Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Elliott was born June 15, 1924 in Ashe County to Harrison and Nealie Lewis Elliott. In addition to his parents, Mr. Elliott was preceded in death by sister, Lillie Ashley.

Mr. Elliott was a member of Big Flatts Baptist Church where he served as deacon. He was a charter member of Fleetwood Fire Dept. He loved to fish and mow at the church when he was able. He worked for the Navy during WWII.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. at the Big Flatts Baptist Church by the Rev. Chris Cox and the Rev. Garry Watson. Burial followed in Big Flatts Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.

2 Sons: Tom Elliott of Fleetwood, NC & Danny Elliott of Spruce Pine, NC

1 Daughter: Deborah Miller of Fleetwood, NC

1 Sister: Bertha Jordan of Fleetwood, NC

6 grandchildren, 4great-grandchildren, 1 step-great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews.

Flowers will be appreciated, or memorials may be made to: Big Flatts Baptist Church Building Fund or Cemetery Fund.
