Mrs. Shepherd was born July 26, 1927 in Pittsylvania, VA to John Albert and Edna Stegall Powell. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shepherd was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ralph Shepherd.
Mrs. Shepherd attended Highlands Community Church. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed playing jokes and making people laugh. She was loved by all who knew her.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 12, at 2 p.m. at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Steve Witherspoon. Burial followed in Jones Cemetery. The family received friends from 1to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
Mrs. Shepherd is survived by: two sons, Joseph Shepherd and wife, Charlyn, of Sharpsburg, GA and Barry Kent Shepherd of Wasilla, AK; one daughter, Pamela Gail Cox of Atlanta, GA; one sister, Lorene Worrell of Greensboro, NC; three grandchildren, Jermy Neil Greer, Jospeh Kent Cox and Gaelyn Claire Shepherd; and one great grandchild; Autumn Greer.
