Mr. Robert Wade Ham, better known as “Wade” age 80, of Lansing, died Saturday morning, December 22, 2007 at Ashe Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, December 23, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dwight Barker officiating. Burial followed in the Stansberry Cemetery in Lansing.

Mr. Ham was born in Ashe County on January 25, 1927 to the late Coy Vance Ham and the late Donna Ray Eldreth Ham. He was an agricultural farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Stansberry Ham; two sons, Robert Ham and Roger Ham, both of Lansing; three daughters, Rebecca Chrisawn and Leisa Powell, both of West Jefferson and Patricia Childress, of Jefferson; a sister, Mary Calloway, of West Jefferson; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
