(Editor’s Note: The following story was published in The Villages Daily Sun in The Villages, an adult retirement community in central Florida. It was written by Glenda Sanders, a features writer with the newspaper, about Peggy Saultz Hartzog, an Ashe County native living in The Villages.

Peggy grew up in the Glendale Springs community and graduated from Jefferson High School. She married Dudley Hartzog of Ashe County, a graduate of Beaver Creek High School. They live in Florida and have a summer home at Peggy’s homeplace in Glendale Springs where they stay every year while visiting family and friends. They both also attended their 50th high school reunions in 2007. This story was made known to the Post by Peggy’s sister-in-law, Dawna Benedict of Idlewild.)
