Mr. Thermond Lee Barker, better known as “Lee”, age 82, of Warrensville died Wednesday morning, January 16, 2008 at Ashe Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Joe Blevins and Rev. JC Norton officiating. Burial followed in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2008 at Boone Family Funeral Home.
Mr. Barker was born in Ashe County on Tuesday, March 3, 1925 to the late William Barker and Pearl Hamby Barker. He retired from construction.
Mr. Barker is survived by his wife, Ilene Gilley Barker, of the home; three daughters, Arlena Creasman of North Wilkesboro, Kathy Sapp of Warrensville and Janet Hartsog of West Jefferson; two brothers, Emmett Barker of Jefferson and Millard Barker of Rising Sun, Maryland; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great, great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
