Mrs. Lucy McNeill, age 85, of West Jefferson, passed away on Monday morning, March 3, 2008 at Margate Health & Rehab Center.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 9 at Boone Family Funeral Home by Rev Steve LeaShomb and Rev. Tommy Dollar. Burial will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 til 3 pm at Boone Family, prior to services.
Mrs. McNeill was born in Ashe County on Sunday, December 31, 1922, to the late Thomas and Bessie Miller McNeill. She was retired from Southern Devices.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph McNeill.
She is survived by a son, Jerry McNeill of West Jefferson; a daughter Glenna McNeill Lewis, of Thomasville; a brother, Don McNeill of West Jefferson; three sisters, Ann Hurley of Roxboro, NC, Ida Belle Brown of Jefferson and Clyde Black of West Jefferson; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a step great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews also survive.
