Rex Edward Harless, age 83, of West Jefferson, died Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at Margate Health & Rehab.
Mr. Harless was born July 1, 1925 in Ashe County to the late George and Ida Craft Harless. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Johnny, Lane and Joseph Harless, and two sisters, Maggie Howell and Doris Storie. He loved riding a tractor and working with horses, mules and dogs.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 3, at 2 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church by the Rev. Robert Harless and the Rev. Mark Harless. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2, at Badger Funeral Home.
Mr. Harless is survived by 1 brother, the Rev. Ross Harless of West Jefferson; 1 sister, Madge Roberts of West Jefferson; his caregivers, Donald and Linda Harless; several nieces and nephews also survive.
