Ruth Inamae Roark, age 81, of Warrensville, passed away Tuesday night, November 11, 2008 at Ashe Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were held on Friday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m. at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Osborne and the Rev. Jeff Nave officiating. Graveside services were held on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 3 p.m. at the Miller-Roland Cemetery.
The family received friends from 6-7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14, prior to the funeral service.
Mrs. Roark was born in Ashe County on Sunday, May 8, 1927, to the late Roy Elliott and Julie Graybeal Elliott. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Warrensville Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a son, Arvil Roark.
Mrs. Roark is survived by her husband, Delmer Roark, of Warrensville; three sons, Archie Roark and wife, Blanche, of Todd, Mike Roark and wife, Donna, of Warrensville and Danny Roark and wife, Norma, of Warrensville; two daughters, Gloria I. Gallaher of Warrensville and Barbara Walters and husband, Jim, of Warrensville; a brother, Raymond Elliott, of Creston; five sisters, Bonnie Greer of Elk Creek, VA, Grace Hamm of Lansing, Lois Shepherd of Warrensville, Josephine Sapp of Creston and Mary Houck of Creston; a daughter-in-law, Jane Roark, of Warrensville; seven grandchildren, Amy Bennett of Kernersville, Melissa Harmon of Warrensville, Kevin Roark of Todd, Tim Walters of Fleetwood, Amanda Farmer of Lansing, Crystal Edmisten of Fleetwood and Ashley Roark of Warrensville; six great-grandchildren, Makayla Bennett, Tyler Harmon, Lydia Edmisten, Kallie Bennett, Niko Jannetta and Skyler Jannetta; several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family met at the home place, 1165 West Staggs Creek Road in Warrensville.
