A total of 154 players competed in the 2011 Ashe Shrine Club Golf Tournament on Sunday, Sept. 18 at Mountain Aire Golf Club. Over $12,000 was raised, which will assist the Ashe Shrine Club in helping 16 children from our area receive treatment in the orthopedic hospital in Greeneville, S.C.

Shane Simmons emerged as the winner on a cool, foggy, and misty day. His fine round of two-under par 70 from the blue tees was good enough to take the top spot. Simmons defeated Trey Scott and Tim Badger by one stroke.
