Lottie Catherine Garrett moved from her earthly residence to her heavenly home on Nov. 26, 2011.

Lottie was born on March 20, 1921 in Ashe County to the late Tom and Mary Brooks. In 1941 she was married to Woodrow W. Garrett and made her home in Delaware for 48 years. Woodie preceded her in death in 1974. In 1988 Lottie once again made her home in Ashe County where she lived until 2009 when due to declining health she made her home with her daughter in Bluff City, Tenn. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mamie Brooks, and her brother, Clarence Brooks; and survived by brother, Leonard Brooks of New Castle, Del.

Lottie had a servant’s heart and loved to serve her Lord by always being available to help others in need. She was always active in her church. Lottie enjoyed baking and sewing. Her delicious pies and cakes will be greatly missed. And her beautiful handmade quilts will be enjoyed by her family for years to come.

She is survived by son, Woodrow W. Garrett, Jr. and wife, Linda, of Exeland, Wis.; their children, Mark Garrett and wife, Jen, of Birchwood, Wis., and daughter, Carla Sieben and husband, Todd, of Richfield, Minn.; daughter, Brenda McClure of Bluff City, Tenn., and her children, Cathy Hodge and husband, James, of Strawberry Plains, Tenn., Mike Wimer and wife, Tika, of Telford, Tenn., and Bryan McClure and wife, Courtney, of Lousiville, Ken.; and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were grandsons, Mark Garrett, Mike Wimer, Bryan McClure, and great-nephew, Jeff Brooks, along with Jerry Brooks and Ronald Halsey.

Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Mike Pope. The family received friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.

Flowers will be appreciated or memorials may be made to Fletcher Memorial Baptist Church, PO Box 65, Jefferson, NC 28640.

You may send and view condolences to the family through our website, www.badgerfuneralhome.com.
