Lorraine Stansberry Ham

Mrs. Lorraine Stansberry Ham of Lansing died Monday morning, May 28, 2012 at her residence. She was 81.
Mrs. Ham was born in Ashe County on Saturday, Dec. 20, 1930 to the late Edgar Ray and Edith Elizabeth Greer Stansberry. She was a member of Lansing Presbyterian Church and organized Christmas gifts, food and clothing projects, as she directed this program for nearly 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Ham; a brother, Dewitt Stansberry; and a sister, LenaMae Roland.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Ham of Lansing and Roger Ham and wife, Louise, of Lansing; three daughters, Rebecca Chrisawn and husband, Darrell, of West Jefferson, Patricia Childress and husband, James, of Jefferson, and Leisa Powell and husband, Todd, of West Jefferson; one sister, Polly Johnson of Honolulu, Hawaii; 10 grandchildren, Andrea Morgan, Travis Chrisawn, Allison Shoemake, Ethan Chrisawn, Robert Ham, Jr., Stacey Howell, Matt Ham, Heather C. Campbell, Sydney Powell, and Griffin Powell; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30, at Lansing Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ken Morris and the Rev. Dwight Barker officiating. Burial followed in the Stansberry Cemetery.
The family received friends 2-3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30, at Lansing Presbyterian Church.
