Milam arrested on multiple narcotics charges

A Creston man was arrested on multiple narcotics charges Friday, June 15, according to information released Tuesday by the Ashe County Sheriffs Office.

Joseph Eugene Milam, 58, of Creston, was arrested on Friday, June 15, by the ACSO Narcotics Division following the execution of a search warrant.

Milam was charged with trafficking and possession of opiates, possession with intent to manufacture, sell, deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, maintain a dwelling to sell and deliver controlled substances, and two counts of possession of stolen firearms.

Over $10,000 were also seized from the residence.

Milam is free on $75,000 secured bond, according to the ACSO, with a Thursday, June 21, scheduled court appearance.
