Jean Goodman Spencer
Mrs. Jean Goodman Spencer of West Jefferson passed away Sunday morning, July 1, 2012 at Glenbridge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Boone. She was 84.
Mrs. Spencer was born in Ashe County on Thursday, Nov. 3, 1927 to the late Spencer and Grace Cochran Goodman. She retired from Sprague Electric Mfg. She was a member of Smethport United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Warren Spencer, on July 26, 2006; a brother, Curtis Goodman; and a sister, Dorothy Malone.
Mrs. Spencer is survived by cousins.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 5, at Smethport United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gregg Plott officiating. Burial followed in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
The family received friends from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
