On June 15, a resident of West Street in Jefferson reported a fraud (obtaining money/property by false pretense) to the ACSO. During the incident, the alleged victim did not receive the correct item purchased. No other details reported. The case is under further investigation.

On June 30, a resident of Ira Powers Road reported a motor vehicle theft to the ACSO. During the incident, a black 2001 Nissan Maxima, valued at $2000, was allegedly stolen. The case is under further investigation.

On July 3, a resident of NC 194 N in West Jefferson reported a burglary (forcible entry), larceny, and criminal damage to property (vandalism) to the ACSO. During the incident, the door of the residence was allegedly kicked in, the home was entered, and an 18V battery, prescription medication, a wooden oak door, valued at $350, a drivers side door glass window, valued at $200, and two old bottles of liquor were allegedly stolen.

On June 5, a resident of 194 N in Lansing reported a burglary (forcible entry) and larceny to the ACSO. During the incident a Springfield XD-45 pistol, valued at $600, was allegedly stolen. The case is under further investigation.

On June 5, a business on Railroad Grade Road reported a burglary (forcible entry) and larceny to the ACSO. During the incident, the business window was allegedly broken and $120 was stolen from the business.

On July 6, an Ashe County resident reported a burglary (forcible entry) and larceny to the Ashe County Sheriffs Office. Durig the incident, a window was broken and a Daisy BB gun, three air soft guns, a Columbia winter jacket, a bottle of gin, and a box of .22 bullets were allegedly stolen. The case is under further investigation.

On July 6, a resident of Will Vannoy Road in West Jefferson reported a criminal damage to property (vandalism) to the ACSO. During the incident, a home’s exterior siding was allegedly damaged when it was hit by fireworks. The case is under further investigation.

On July 7, a resident of Lakeview Trail reported a larceny to the ACSO. During the incident, a 14’ dark green canoe, valued at $600, was allegedly stolen. The case is under further investigation.

On July 7, the ACSO reported a DWI (alcohol and/or drugs) arrest during a traffic stop on Doggett Road in West Jefferson. No other details reported.
